Photography isn't about the physical camera. It's about what it leaves behind: the image you come back to ten years later that pulls you straight back into a moment you'd almost forgotten.
Weddings are the only day in your life where every single person who has ever mattered to you is in the same room. The people who have shaped you. The ones you don't see enough. And somewhere in the crowd, the ones who couldn't make it, living on in the faces of the people who loved them. Every bit of it deserves to be captured.
I shoot documentary style. That means I'm not directing your day, I'm in it with you. I want to catch family members from opposite sides in deep conversation. Your reaction when someone says something in their speech that moves you. The nervous energy before the door opens. The moment at midnight when you look around and can't believe this was your life today.
Elopements and smaller weddings are no different - no big crowd, no noise, no itinerary, no one pulling you in different directions. Just you and your person, fully present, choosing one another. That kind of intimacy is beautiful and it is an honour to document it.
Speeches tend to have a bad reputation, but as a natural observer, it is always my favourite part (also, your vows!). I could listen to people share their love for each other all day. This is why ____ Studios offers both photography and cinematography. Our film team comes from a commercial and documentary background: so every vow, every speech, every moment isn't just captured, it's captured cinematically. At the end of it all, you'll have your own little film - your day, your people, your love, exactly as it happened.
And it's not just weddings! Couples, families, pets, milestone celebrations: every season of your life is worth documenting. Kids are only little once. Pets are never with us long enough. You are only this age right now. I view these shoots as little time capsules, a snapshot of exactly where you are in your life in this very moment, yours to keep forever.
